Making Clouds

Yesterday I read the book “It Looked Like Spilt Milk” by Charles G. Shaw. It is a great book to spark imagination as we wonder about shapes that we see in clouds.

As we have been investigating about art mediums and ways to express ourselves, we made a list of mediums that we could use to do our own artwork inspired by the book. The children said white paint, white crayons, white pencils, paper, chalk and cotton.

As a group we decided to use cotton and blue paper as our mediums to create our clouds.

We did the project today. 

The process was very tactile, simple and engaging. 

The product was beautiful and 'fluffy' as someone said. 
They love 'fluffy' projects.

The children can now look at each other’s clouds and talk about what they see in them. 

This project has actually two sides. One is what the artist wanted to make the cloud look like. The other is what the viewers see. 

To the children the best part was to look at the clouds with interest, with curiosity, with appreciation, and wonder.
